Default Would you buy this manual-only camera - and at what maximum price?

Would you buy the following camera? Please vote according to price. If you would pay extra for any of the "options", indicate how much more you would pay (for each item) in a post!

Features (including 'negative' features):

almost completely manual - no AF, no metering, the only functions allowed would be those which can be implemented without having to use chips other than the chip required to capture and process the image, save it on a memory card, and display it on a rear screen.
Large VF (at least K20D size) with split screen prism.
Rear screen
APS-C sensor (lets presume K20D sensor)
ISO can be changed (so - 100-6400)

options:
1. SR
2. 3 fps shooting (allowing bracketing, multiple exposure, intervalometer)
3. live view
4. 1000 shot battery life
5. smaller than DS

edit: If you would buy it, but ONLY if the camera had one or more of the options, vote "no" and say in a post how much you would pay, with all of the options you would select. If you would buy, but only at a price lower than SGD 800, state price.

Seriously, how much are we going to save by ripping off the AE and AF modules?

OK today must be a trivial pursuit day...

Firstly of all, NO CAMERA MANUFACTURER will even attempt to make such a camera. It is the anti-thesis of the modern camera, which is to provide a rich feature set at an attractive price point. There is simply no market for a bare-bones, crippled spec, manual only camera that caters to a very small segment of retro junkies.

Anyway what you've described is already available... a K200D set to Manual mode with focusing set to Manual focus with a Katz eye focusing screen or similar.

Sorry bro, after spending 10 mins reading your first post over and over again, I don't really know which camera are you trying to put into comparison and perspective.

Anyway sometimes we just think too much when making a decision in purchasing something. For me if it fits my budget, if its what I wanted in the camera, I will just buy. No need to lose sleep on such things. Why make life difficult when life is already so complicated

Well, the pentax primes are -almost- as good, and as small, and you can buy the whole set for the price of the m8.
