Default Bright and Natural

hjbyeo bro asked about Pentax Red/Purple details loss. Coming from K10D, I know many likes to use bright mode. However, this mode needs to be use carefully. It gives u great colors but may cause color clipping. Here are 2 shots I took of the same flower with the bright and natural mode. Both are out of K20D JPEG with crop and framing.

Bright mode

Natural mode

Hope this will be useful^^

Natural sort of gives it a little more details? I kind of prefer the natural...

Yes it retains more details on high contrast subject. It might not look much but with a little sharpening and some color adjustment, u'll get something like this

well, messing with the curves in-camera tends to do that.. because control is lessened.

but no doubt, bright is pretty good for landscapes.. i like it!

means he reverse mount the lens. the screw thread facing the camera instead of the usual way. you have to get an adaptor to do that.

OK, I'll try to explain with best of what I know. A Sigma 28mm is a MF lens build for SLR, like what we get from a 18mm on DSLR. You can take quite some distance with it. So by reversing it, it takes very close up shots. This is what we call reverse lens macro.

To make sure the lens mount on the camera body, we use a reverse adapter, which 1 side is k mount the other is male filter thread so u can screw in the lens in reverse.

Hope this will clear ur doubts.

Edit: don't be embrass about asking, it's a good way to learn^^ Anything u dun understand you can pm me, as it'll be easier for me to type out to u, though I'm not gd with most theories^^;

Same problem with Nikons as well

Choosing the sRGB III will blow out the reds out of the sensor hehehe... My friend uses a
D70s and always have this issue with flowers, have to choose neutral sRGB I or Adobe RGB colorspace to settle this issue!

Same thing with my D200
