I want to buy a backup battery for my Sony camera DSC-H10. (It uses NP-BG1, G-type)
Image link here http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Lithium-R.../dp/B000BOLHH0 I asked several photo camera in Simlim square, Peninsula shopping centre and Funan, they said that better buy a high capacity batteries (but not from Sony) at price around 65 SGD. I don't know if I use non-original battery can damage my camera or not ? And how about the given price ? Plz give me some advice. Thanks a lot.

Straight up, I can tell you that it's best to stick to the Sony originals:

DON'T trust the specs.
Don't trust salespeople also - many (most??) of them are camera salesmen, not photographers. And yes, refer to Rashkae's post above mine. (I doubt they'll fry your cam, though)

Buy the original. My experience with third party batteries for the many cameras that I had are far from satisfactory. They work well but after some months, the capacity just drops. My original battries on the other hand retain much of their capacity till now.
Spend a bit more and get the original. It is well worth it. Personal experience. |
