I've only tried some hands-on on this little fellow. It's a pretty decent cam which can produce pretty nice pictures. But I find that the cover in front protecting the lens is quite difficult to slide down to turn the cam on. Otherwise, I would say it's a very nice cam.

You may want to check with the usual shops like MS Color and Cathay Photo for a quote.

I agree 100%... It can even snap into place so fast that it feels like the whole cam is going to pop out of my hands. Definitely use the wrist-strap!

35mm is the de facto standard for reference cos most consumer film cameras used 35mm film. So the focal length of the lenses were made for 35mm film. But with digicams and most DSLRs, the sensor that has replaced film is not the same size as a frame of film, hence the lenses were constructed to suit the smaller sensors and were scaled according to the 35mm format so as to mak sense to the consumer who is very used to 35mm terminology... for most of us, telling us that the lens covers from 35-105mm makes a lot of sense cos we know it's moderately wide-angle to moderately telephoto... but if the focal length is quoted as 7.6-22.8mm, it makes no sense... what's the coverage of 7.6mm, is that ultra wide angle, wide angle or only moderately wide angle... it gets worse when different manufacturers use different sized sensors for their digicams... and so there is now no standard focal length reference... and because of that manufacturers give the focal length equivalent for consumers to make sense of their model offerings...

so that means that our lens(as in dslr) are all in the 35mm terminalogy la... not the size of our sensors focal length format .... rite?

Correct... But in DSLRs, you need to figure in the crop factor to get the "35mm equivalent".

Go to www.sonystyle.com.sg or call up MS Color for a quote.
