I'm also waiting for this lens. Not much information available, the only info I can find was from the press annoucement in dpreview. http://www.dpreview.com/news/0801/08...ntaxlenses.asp
There was a change of this lens when it was first announced, added a tripod collar, and I believe there should be some extra improvements to it. As you can see the estimated marketing of this lens is at summer 08. The 17-70 has already been announced, but so far no news on the DA60-250. ![]() |

Guys, if you've gotten the 50-135 f2.8, would you all still consider to have this? Or would you just go straight for DA*300?
Man.. my neck so long liao waiting for this (end up didn't wait and went for the DA*50-135). Or guys, at least the Tamron 70-200 is around the corner, and its 2.8!

Yes, he has a 50-135mm. I think it's like a kit lens to him
But what do I know, only meet him once^^

Have the 16-50 and just got the 50-135mm yesterday....... if only the 60-250 had come sooner, I wouldn't have bought it................
![]() Anyway 50-135 could still be a good portraiture lens ................ ![]()

50-135 IS a good portraiture lens, from what I have seen.
50mm is good for 1/2 body shots and with 135mm you can really get very tight head shots.

Let's hope 60-250/4 would be a FF lens, then it'd be selling like a hot cake
But one thing I need to remind you guys, it's not a small lens, pretty big and heavy. Don't know if you'd like to carry it for travel. I think the DA50-200 and DA55-300 still have their advantages for travel or casual lenses ... The DA50-135 is a totally different lens. Pentax made this lens to replace the 70/80-200/2.8 on digital, although I don't think it can replace my FA*80-200 at all ![]() |
