Default Girl fall off boat at Phi Phi Island

I was in Phuket for a holiday recently so I had the chance to visit Phi Phi Island.
The boat that I took to Phi Phi was pretty huge so I guess the passengers took safety for granted, thinking that no one would fall off overboard.

1. Within seconds of man overboard, the crew acted swiftly to save the little girl. Crew on walkie-talkie and pointing to the direction of the little girl.

2. The waves were strong but somehow the little girl managed to stay afloat while the boat turned to pick her up. One of the crew members jumped into the water from the side of the boat with a rope attached to his lifejacket.

3. From the deck the two were hauled to the back of the boat by the other crew members.

4. I can only imagine the trauma the little girl just went through. The father's hand (with the red string ard the wrist) holding out to her daughter.

5. Save at last thanks to the quick-thinking of the crew members and the alert passengers who raised the alarm quick and loud.

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate gallery.
If inappropriate, mods kindly move this to the right one or delete this thread.

Thanks bro! But I think I was just at the right place at the right time. Coincidentally when I was attempting to take landscape shots of the surrounding Phi Phi Island this happened. So even someone with minimal skills could have taken these.

Yeah, I was kinda lucky that I was at the bottom deck although I rather that the little girl did not fall off in the first place. Apparently she fell off from the higher deck, so you can imagine the height of the fall before she hit the water.

Hey Sprintist,
If only I was a very strong swimmer and confident that I can save the little girl and not further endanger her life and mine, then I would jump in.
Yes, a lifejacket could keep me afloat but if I do not have the strength to swim, then I would only make matter worse than it already was.
Plus pulling me up will be harder than the girl cos of my BIG size .

cos it just struck me about the story of the photographer who committed suicide not saving a child salvaged by a vulture or something where he took a winning shot. 4got his name.

anyway, nice coverage, the dad must be damn relieved

Yes, the dad was super-relieved.
But I overheard some ppl saying that he should have been more careful.
I have no idea exactly what happened prior to the fall but I believe that these insensitive ppl should not have said it in light of the accident and when the family just went through an ordeal.

Hey M3lvin, thanks for the link, I have heard a fren talking bout this incident before.
