Default Newbie looking for DSLR

Hi all,

Currently iam looking for a DSLR which mainly for Indoor (Object and Human) and aquarium (Livestocks in the water and overall tank) taking purposes.
My budget range is SGD1200-1800.
Should i go for Nikon D60/80 or Canon 450D ?
and what is the lens should i get?
Appreciate all Pro bros for the advice.

hate image/shadow noise go for canon, 1000d and 400d still not bad.
low budget can opt for a 2nd hand 400d instead.
noise is better controlled in cmos sensors than ccd.
the 12mp 450d surely got more noise than 10mp 1000d or 400d.
for more samples go to pixel-peeper.com or dcresource.com where you can pixel peep the noise issues.

go for nikon only if you can accept its noise performance on ccd.
for more d60/d80 details, you can find it somewhere in this section.

lens wise, just get the kit lens will do 18-55mm IS.
unless you want faster low light performance, be prepared to dish out 600+ on a sigma 30mm f1.4 or tarmon 17-50mm f2.8

oh ya the d60/d80 or 450d threads quite a lot recently in this section, look around.

You can consider the Sony A300/350 too.

Yea u have quite a high budget. add another 100-200 dollars to the max i think you can get a pretty good Canon 40D with a 50mm f/1.8. From what i gathered around here good for portraits. also u have ur kit lens to depend on IF you need a slight zoom or cant be bothered to move about

Why Not consider the Pentax K20D or the K200D also?
