I don't even understand why the picture above looks so good. It definitely looks better than the actual thing. Also, is that like banding on the lower left? Last edited by dnaxe; 26th June 2008 at 05:06 AM. |

Yeah it could be banding but the greenish patch could also indicate filter ghosting.
Funny thing is why only at that spot? What ISO did you shoot at because your picture's exif has been removed? My guess is DA35mm macro used here.

Just my guess. Is this a poster kinda display shoot thru glass panel? The banding is slanting, could be the pattern from cardboard used for the display? The greenish patch could be ghosting from glass panel in front? The white patch at the chin and left face are they reflections? |

Looks like the common banding in K10D (Think K20D also might have). Likely due to undereposed area. But if you find you are getting them often and at low ISO, better send in fast.

nothing to do with me as a photog! Well. If you think the composition is good, that's me
![]() But the colour and the 3d effect, nothing to do with me! It's a poster... well. It's a "partial" 3D poster, in that the figure is lifted away from the background. but the figure itself is flat. I haven't noticed the banding in other shots at all. Might be a filter effect I guess? It was taken with a 16-50 + k20d with these settings: ISO: 800 Exposure: 1/60 sec Aperture: f/3.5 Focal Length: 50mm Flash Used: No 16-50 had a B+W MRC... Edit: Was not taken through glass... yeah...have to agree with istDes. looks pretty likely it's the usual perforated pattern on the cardboard. The earlier K10D CCD banding problem does not look like this, I think..

Hi dnaxe
I have confirmed 100% its due to the perforation on the cardboard. Was there where the board is, probably another branch though.... Took a good look. I tried to capture the perforations but just can't seem to see it on the image...![]()
