Hi all,
Am planning to buy a new camera - need some advice/recommendations or even examples would be excellent. I've seen in reviews that Canon's 860IS's macro mode can go close to 2cm and fuji can go up to 7/10cm only? Is that true? Can let me know what u guys receommend? None of my friends use fuji currently... Thanks in advance ![]() |

which one has a wider angle? i think the 860 has a 28mm equivalent. you'll find that quite useful compared to the 35-38mm equivalent for most P&S cameras.

Thanks for replying... f100 has wide angle too.
![]() from the forum, f100 seemed to be better but there are quite a few complaints too. ![]() |

f50fd have manual control and cheaper, also with a cheaper underwater casing at amazon.com compare to f100fd and 860IS. Actually f40fd would be even cheaper but without manual control.
Is manual control essential for underwater shot?

do you think you will get a strobe? if yes, then most likely you'll want some form of manual control. that said, ixus cameras work pretty well underwater too, so it all depends on how involved you want to be in creating your underwater images |
