depends on what kind of landscape leh... some bro here takes landscape with many different type of lens.. sometimes 85mm CZ also.. sometimes with a small compact panasonic LX2..

but on a more serious note.. really depends on what you want to capture.. how wide a field of view you need .. lighting condition..etc

a 28mm gives a wider view than the 50mm.. but if you are talking about indoor "architecture" shots.. it might not be wide enough... 28mm might not be wide enough for outdoor landscape shots also.. IMO a zoom lens like the kit lens or other lens that start from 16/17/18mm would be more flexible..

A 50mm f1.4 or 1.7 would be what most people use for indoor shoots due to their larger aperture .. when available light is low.. but actually there is no single 1 lens you must use for each type of shots... its all about knowing what you want to capture and making do with what you have..

Perhaps let us know what exactly you are confused about? What is your level of understanding of photography?

Well, its like this, landscape as in buildings and indoor as in from building shoot then go in for the indoor "architecture" shoot, like those ancient building inside where lights are quite low, portraits hardly....

sounds like you'd want a larger depth of view.. if so, you're likely to shoot at f8 or more.. I'd say go for the zoom lenses like 16-105mm or 18-250mm.. or even 10-20mm or FE lenses.. if lighting not enough, use tripod and shoot.. that'll eliminate camera shake, which is your only worry here..

You might want to look at a 12-24 f/2.8 from sigma.

so to say, even my kit lens 18-70mm will be good for those shots liao ar??

but how about the indoor "architecture" shots? cant be using the tripod ba, like those church, the ceiling got nice drawing worth taking, as you know the indoor lights are not very well lid, if set to lowest aperture and lower shutter speed and tripod and flash is not a option, you really need a very steady hand wor....

A wide angle lens would be good for landscape pictures. I've been using my KM 17-35mm for landscape shots. Some samples can be seen here: http://s105.photobucket.com/albums/m...ape/?start=all

You may want to consider the Sigma 14mm f2.8 too.

yes, they are sharp i agree but in low light, lack of brightness, so u up the ISO, become gainy, u down the shutter, u need a tripod or the picture will blur, up lower the aperture, the shutter speed will up automatic so no point but in outdoor day shoot or indoor very bright area, they are really good

I have been using the 16mm FE for most of my landscape and indoor shots and I like it very much even though I'll need to defish in post-processing for indoor shots.

16mm FE at f/2.8 should be good for low light wide angle shots.

Don, what program you use for defishing? I am still looking for program to defish my 8mm peleng shots.
