I know its a very long tread, but i am really anxious and need help.
Just tonight i realized that i can't download pictures directly from my A350. I had used both methods. Method 1, use the data transfer cable (provided) and plug the camera to my laptop directly (i alway do it this way). Method 2, use a card reader. Both methods failed. While using Method 1, i can't see the entire collection of the pictures i have in my memory card (even the most recent shoot i had taken). Say for example, i have 1000 pictures, only 500 pictures are viewable and had appeared in the folder. The rest of the 500 i can't even see it even though i had tried several times to remove and plug into my laptop and had refreshed the window many times. I had even downloaded some of the pictures weeks ago which apparently does not appear in the folder tonight. For method 2, it seem that it can't read the card b'cos none of the pictures are able to view. Apparently my laptop could detect the memory card cos i could see the various drives but i can't see anything in there. Could it be b'cos i am using a card reader which is old and not compatible... (bought it many years ago) I am using a brand new memory card (SanDisk Extreme III). I bought it at Cathay Photo and i am sure its original version. Could it be b'cos the memory card is corrupted? Did anyone ever experience this before? Any pro that can advise me wad to do? ![]()

I'm not a pro nor have I encountered this problem before, but I suggest you slot in another memory card to your A350, reset your camera settings, format your memory card, shoot a few photos, and try to see again using Method 1 and 2 if you could transfer it into your laptop. If now it works, it'll probably be a problem with your Sandisk CF card.
If it still doesnt work, then hmmm.... I don't know.

I face this problem with a client but he is using D70 and Extreme 2 or Ultra 2 can't remember.
Either send bring your camera and the card to Sandisk and show them what happen (Don't format the card or take anymore picture). Usually they won't charge Or Since there is no way u can transfer the images to your computer, u have to cross your fingers and tried. Rather than to hang this problem in the air. This is what i do. 1 - DON'T use the card for the time being 2 - Format the card 3 - Do a recovery with the software provide See how much u can recover. If still cannot recover, sent it Sandisk and ask them to do a recovery. For this, I manage to recover 100% of the photos.

Try to save it on another PC...
I've got data cards that can be read from one PC but cannot see any thing on another. ... could be the O/S |

May be due to files corruption in the CF card, try the recovery program provided by Sandisk and see whether you can recover any lose files.

go to sandisk office throw at the receptionist and start yelling. mayb they'll recover all your photos and give a free upgrade?
that's the safest option that is almost certain you do not lose photos in the process of recovery. |

mind you the receptionist is just an employee in the administration dept.... he/she don't own the company... so please treat them with respect. I believe TS has to troubleshoot to find out where is the root of the problem first... why is everyone so sure that it is the memory card is the culprit already... 1: can you view the picture the picture on the camera directly? 2: under the setup menu, did you configure as mass storage or ptp?
