Phuket is the best.... for a reasonable price. SIMILAN or just around phuket.

From sipadan, philippines, thailand (except koh samui area), manado and other parts of indonesia are mostly divable. Phuket in december can be a hit/miss affair as it's just the end of monsoon. The 2 times i went similans LOB there in december i didn't make it up to richelieu rock due to bad weather, vis was spotty and water was coooolllddd....

i just came back from sipadan last week. diving was great. nice resort nice room excellent service. and definitely great price you have to pay(i flooded my 850 IS)
i've looked thru the air tickets to palau 1.4k USD its crazy. another 1k usd for accomdation thats madness. any suggestion on where to go to see schools of fishes manta? sharks? budget probably around 1.5k |

Mantas Nusa Penida at Manta Point ... Sharks at Tepekong School of fish at Tulamben Wreck ...

1.5k gets you about 20 weekends of diving at hantu! wow! that's like almost half a year of diving every week!
