A very good lens. Natural colors and good contrast.

In my opinion, the Carl Zeiss 50mm f2 Makro ZF is a better lens though.

May I know in what way is the CZ 50mm F2 better than the voigtlander 58mm f1.4?

Thanks

Carl Zeiss' signature sharpness is enough to better the Voigtlander, UNLESS it is a 58mm NOCT.

I am not saying the Voigtlander is a bad lens; just different feel. If you love Leica, you will enjoy it. I used to own a Hasselblad, so I still prefer the Zeiss look and feel.

Hi, may I know how is the voigtlander 58mm f1.4 as compared to carl zeiss 50mm f1.4?

I was thinkin of getting either one. Seems like the price difference is not really big

Again, you are comparing apples and oranges. They are different breed of lenses (although both are made by Cosina). If you are looking for a lens which gives intense and lively colors, higher resolving ability and good contrast, go for the Carl Zeiss. It gives a 'snap' to images.

If your goals are soft, natural and warmer colors, good sharpness but not overly sharpened and soft contrast, then the Voigtlander is your choice. As I had mentioned before, Voigtlander lenses perform very similarly to Leica's.

To simplify your decision, most people find Carl Zeiss lenses 'harsher' than Voigtlander's. If you shoot mostly portraitures, the Voigtlander will reduce your time in front of Photoshop trying to soften and blend the subject's skin.

Very slight when you zoom in a lot. Was just testing the lens by shooting at a carpark. Happen to see some CA at the leaves of the tree when zoom in. Was focusing at infinity at f1.4
