IR Modification?

Hi Guys,

All thanks to FW! Now I got a almost mint K100D that I just received from HK!

Originally wanted to start my Pentax journey with it but bought K20D instead

Ok now the question... Is there any one in Singapore who can do IR modification to this body safely and effectively?

I have been searching the NET and there a few international parties providing this service one of them is LIFEPixel.com but they only do N & C

Don't think there is any company or person here in Singapore who ever modified a Pentax dSLR for IR yet. My buddy friend in China has been doing this for quite a while. I've tried several of his modified K100D cameras, worked pretty well. Let me know if you need any help on this one

He's spoiled liao, and we know there is no cure for LBA/CBA

And I'm gonna bring along a modified IR K100D to the gathering tomorrow, you guys will see how cool it is

Should only use with kit lens? Or can be used with other lens?

It can be used w/ any Pentax lens including M42 lenses, just like you take normal photos w/ a unmodified K100D But some lenses are prone to hot spot when taking IR photos (eg. DA1645, FA43/1.9 and etc.). The kit lens is surprisingly very good for IR photos, never seen any hot spot yet (no matter used on a modified camera or just use an IR filter in front of the lens).

I myself have tested the kit lens, DA21 and M20/4, all worked pretty well. Since I don't have a kit lens anymore, I'd use the M20/4 tomorrow

LOL! FW... Not sopiled lah! Just selling of my Nikon stuff and buying Pentax

And you certainly are of no help, always offering me great pentax lenses to buy

Every one beware of FW, he is the only reason for LBA for me hahaha...

hahaha, faisalee really addicted already.. i think very long before i buy mod cam lehhh

Bro. Can you let me know how much does he charge? How much shipment in / out of singapore for the K100D body
