Available for sale - Sony VX2000E (PAL) 3CCD Pro 3CCD videocamera with charger, Hi capacity original Sony Li-On battery, strap, large eyecup. Asking S$1,100 ono. Condition - very good. Was just serviced by Sony. Replaced record button. Body has superficial scratches from use. Lens is fungus free except for a single spot on edge. Can be cleaned.

It was bought in 2000. It has so far logged in about 85 hours of tape. Has not been used for editing - I use a DV deck for that. I am not a pro so its only been used to record my children at birth and growing up. It was serviced at Sony less than a year back when it was found to have intermitent problems with recording but this was resolved by the replacement of the recording on/of button. Since then, no further reliability issues.

Obviouisly - no Sony warranty left after all these years.

Has some (expected) superficial scratches and wear on some of the external edges at the bottom of the camcorder. Leather wrist strap is slightly worn from use. Internals are totally sound and working fine. Its never been dropped etc. Only used a single brand - JVC/Panasonic - of DV tape and tape cleaner throughout its life.

There is a spot of fungus at the outer edge of the lens (2 o'clock position). Its on an internal element (probably second element from the front) but I understand that this can easily be cleaned by Sony technician. Don't know how it got there since the camera is always kept in a dry cabinet when not in use? Otherwise, it is in sound working order.

I have a Canon wide angle lens that fits it. This was meant for the Canon GL1 but it works fine on the Sony. At $350 new, it was signficantly cheaper than the Sony which was selling for about $550 then. The Canon wide angle is a more substantive piece of glass than the Sony wideangle for the VX. I can throw this in t the package too at the same price.

Comes with original manual, charger, large viewfinder eyecup, cables and original sony ultra high capacity battery. The Canon wideangle comes with lens cap and rear cap. A good buy. I am selling because I got myself a Canon XHA1 to shoot HDV recently. Otherwise I would continue keeping/using this low light gem.
