its really funny why ppl always urge others to buy fast cards... Even if u are shooting at 8fps or 10 fps, ur camera itself has a buffer that can hold at least 40-50 pics, before the writing speed slows down. That being said, not everyone is going to shoot at 8 or 10 fps, most dun even shoot at 2.5 fps, most only shoot at 1 frame per minute at XMMs during shoots organized by you know who.

Some go to IT show, PC show or watever car show to shoot race queens or watever queens. They will ask the queen permission to take pic, then after they take one pic, they will stop and ask the queen to change pose or ask to shoot another queen, then another photo will be taken. its about 1 frame per minute just nice. its really wasting money on those sandisk ducatis or extreme 4 or 3.

Worst still, most are just hobbyist who just want to take picture and then sit back relax and enjoy looking at them, with no need to rush to copy fast from memory card to computer. In fact the difference in transfer time is not significant anyway. So why is there a need to waste money on fast cards? Shouldn't the priority be the space and reliability instead?

people buy sport car, branded clothes to show off, to show people how rich they are, to represent their class.

but memory card you show what off? no need so fast one lar. if you buy fast lens i got nothing to say.

Wah, thanks! I just got a dslr and was thinking of getting those fast memory card since ppl here always asking about those cards. This was timely advice.

back anyway, back to the original topic question, what's your take on going for Memory Stick Pro or Compact Flash for your alpha dslr?
i'm aware that recently Sony Style has been selling the alpha cameras with 1x4gb CF card, instead of the 2x2gb MSPro + CF-MS adaptor it used to.

personally i thought having the CF adaptor with MSPro is a little more versatile.
But as far as i know, MSPro prices are comparatively more expensive by a bit.

If you have a lot of Sony devices that use MSPD, it would make more sense to get the MSPD+adaptor combination. Personally i feel the CF form factor is tougher and easier to handle, and thus prefer it.
