Default Canon GIII hood

Hello everyone,

Just wondering...does anyone know where can I get the hood for the canon QL g3 ?

if u refering to ql17 glll, difficult to find, but can use 49mm screw on metal hood, i have both, got them from fei fei.

if u refering to its bigger brother, go to fei fei also, saw they have 1 pc.

the hdb by the road side, opposite the yuan nan yuan resturant, behind chinatown point. on the left of the POSB cash on line.

ok thanks i just went to fei fei today to get the hood for the GIII QL17 it cost me $15 (: not sure if it fits though but the auntie said it will so i shall trust her heh

Hi Dennis, thanks for the info...do you have the pictures of the two types of hood ? I would like to have a look before thankss

49mm screw on metal hood

1) metal, can last.
2) more secure.
3) can use 55mm lens cap on the hood, so save the battery.


original plastic hood
.
1) plastic, so not sure if will last.
2) comes off easily.
3) need to use the original hood, but very difficult to remove for shooting.

hope u get the right one, cause the last time i was there, i only saw one hood that is similar to the one i have but bigger in size, it is for the canonet ql17 glll's bigger brother.

I went there and she gave me this plastic 49mm one.. she told me it is the original one and it has the words 'Canon Made in Japan Canonet Junior Hood' any idea if this is the right one?

Thanks Dennis for posting up the pictures....oh its circular type, I was looking for the square one, any idea which shop has it ?

think you have to get it online. so far i have not seen it here.
