There is an unnatural halo around the temple outline. Maybe aura
![]() A GND ( perhaps a soft step ) might still be amendable told hold back the sky with slight darkening of the top of the temple pending placement, and correcting the underexposure of the temple. Ryan |

Sun is direct at you? U mean u r shooting directly into the sun or the sun behind the temple?
Timing is the key to taking good photos. If the sun is behind the temple or u r looking into the sun, it would be best that you try a different angle or shoot at a different timing. If u r intending to capture the sunset with the temple, a GND would help.

I'm trying to figure out what you meant by "the sun direction was direct at me". I notice that the top-right corner is brighter than the left, so I assume the sun was in that corner of the sky. It seems to me like you shot at about mid-day, with the sun more or less directly overhead?
Looking at your picture composition, it'd be hard to achieve the right exposure even with a GND. Some parts of the temple might be incorrectly exposed. I doubt you'd have a GND that's shaped like the temple outline ![]() Ultimately I guess it's more about the timing of the shot than anything. Sun in a different position would likely improve the shot much more than any filter could hope to achieve. |

think they din help reply leh.. ha..
i am guessing you used HDR or something.. but i might be wrong.. i asked the question coz i've always faced problems shooting in such lighting conditions.. will lose shadow details / will have blown skies.. btw.. i do agree that the colours are somewhat weird.. a bit uncomfortable to look at.. |

thanks!
Glad to know that someone agrees with me.I'm also no expert. Far from it in fact. Feel free to correct me if I made a wrong suggestion. My limited knowledge has been gathered from books, magazines, reading critiques of others' photos, etc. |
