Nice pix here, except for the bride half face shot.

I believe many couples will not like these pictures as these are somewhat out of the ordinary. I attended a friends wedding and did a low light arty farty shoot. fortunately, he and his spouse liked it as his wedding album was mostly arty farty type with c41 coloration look alike.

However, i think most couples would not say bad shot as they will quietly ignore those pictures. They cant show their mother in law a picture of her with half her head or her big fat bumb shot. Too risky. LOL

So question is, do you submit such photos to couples if some of the shots came out such?

Ah, thanks for your input! Really appreciate it!

I've done similar works with some models before, and I did show the couple a sample of what is to be expected - i.e. "arty-farty" out-of-focus shots, out of 10 shots, maybe can see only half your face, and even so, your face might appear green.

More importantly, I also briefed them that they need to get their own main photographer. I will not even be 2nd photographer because if main photographer camera break down, fella never turn up, etc, I would not be able to give them shots their parents would like (but I still stand by some rolls of normal C41 colour film lah, just in case).

Moral of the story is: If you want to pull stunt, make sure the couple are well prepared for it. Never ever try to give surprise.

Next time, try something different. Let a child hold your camera (with everything preset by you). Let the child click and you will be amazed that some shots can come out lovely from their angle of view.

I tried that, no one believe it was shot by a 6yr old on a fast tele prime.

Sounds like a very good idea......although very risky for the lens and body

Heh. I'd also worry if I were to let a 6 year old handle almost $6k worth of equipment by himself. There is a variation of the idea though: A friend of mine gave out disposable cams to the guests on the wedding day and basically asked them to go nuts with it. There were some really fun and interesting shots indeed.

Yes, it was a very heavy cam with an f1.2 tele prime. but my hands were guiding her while i let her frame and click the shutter. I am usually not afraid of breakage, but am afraid of theft if equipment left unattended.

A child's view is quite different from a 5 foot high view.

Wow nice lomo. Intentionally or accidentally on the cross processing?

Great works.
