Default About Sony P&S compact cameras.

hello there,

I'm shopping around for a compact camera these days, because my old one (canon powershot a95) died on me. since i already own an Alpha A100, naturally i'm leaning towards a Sony one because of the shared Memory Stick.

Anyone here uses Cybershots and have some experience to share? How good is the exposure metering and auto white balancing? manual modes is not too important as I believe that the performance of the Auto modes is the most crucial in a compact camera.

I was poking around in the Sony shop today and was quite won over by the W150.
Are Cybershots more pricey compared to the other cameras out there? the W150 is about $529 and i found it quite expensive for its specs. however the build quality is really very decent.

i was quite impressed by the T2 as well, found the touchscreen interface to be so much more intuitive and snappy that i had expected. the "photo album" function is really fun as well and makes sharing and browsing pictures a joy. but its just too expensive la.... $599...

I am also looking at models from other makes, like the Olympus mju1010 and the Panasonics and the Samsungs and the Canon and the Nikons... its seems to be so much harder to pick a compact camera than a dslr @@

Recommendations anyone? (yes i know the W300 is an AWESOME camera, it really is, but just $$$$$$$$$)
Thanks!

Actually they're very very good. Personally, I'm super happy with the W300. The larger sensor makes a difference, though the W150 has a 25mm wide-angle lens. So depends on what you need. Talk to Florence at MS Color, ask her if she can make you a special package deal / offer.

Otherwise, I'm heading to the USA in early July, I could pick up a W300 there. MUCH cheaper.

For other brands, the Canons are ok. Most of the other brands suffer from poor ISO performance or poor sharpness, etc.
