This teleconverter can act in 2 modes:
1. As a normal 2x teleconverter.
2. As a macro 2x teleconverter.

The TC has a ring when turned, it acts like an extension tube, and so your normal 50mm lens becomes a 100mm macro lens, and all the way to 1:1 macro

This is an AIS mount... and there will not be metering from D40 or D80... but it can meter on D200 and higher
