It's a good camera. Battery life is great and better than the previous C-7** models. Mind you, I use Sanyo's 2100 mAH.
![]() The shutter lag is minimal. However, picture quality is a little noisy . . . iso 50 is great. iso 100 is good. iso 200 some noise starts to appear. A little blurry(?) iso 400 think of a picture sprayed with pepper. I try to exclusively stick with iso 50, the images are nice, sharp, and clear. iso 400 is livable but should only be used when necessary. Of course the 10x zoom rules! Olympus has created a very nice camera. It's definetly better than the C-740. Also the support for accessories further increases the usefulness of the camera. C-750 + TCON17 = 17x optical zoom ![]() Try browsing the picture forum . . . some users have posted great pictures using the C-750. Overall as a high zoom camera, the C-750 is excellent. If you need a modern 10X zoom camera, then this is the one to get. If you don't need the zoom, then it might be better to get the Canon G3/G5, Sony V1 |

the canon 250D is a closeup filter, not for additional zoom, use for like taking marcos
for more zoom the best is use teleconvertors from olympus like the tcon ones UV filters a piece of glass, like glasses lens hood is a piece of plastic or rubber to shed the lens, like a baseball cap hope u get what i said ![]() |

For tele lens I use the Olympus TCON17 (1.7X) + CL4 (lens adapter) to get 17x optical zoom. Cost is about S$200 (TCON17) + S$50(CL4). Note I've rounded the prices up. Should be able to get things for less, but those prices are reasonable and below retail.
Avoid the TCON14, it's not good. Most third party tele lenses don't work well with the C-750. Except for the sony one, but that's even more expensive. Do not use regular alkaline batteries! You could probably take only 5-10 pictures with them. Last edited by the_tick; 2nd July 2003 at 09:08 AM. |

thanks for all the respone, but need to chk with u Trick, I went to 1 of those LCS(Local Camera Shop) & saw them attach those 3rd party I think u all call OEM type of teleconverter to the c-750 lei, it cos ard $120, and can even ditach the front part and use it as a marco zoom but I did not ask the brand of this lens it's in silver colour and on the len it stated olympus name lei??Saw this at marina square near KFC, the len have a 2.0x zoom , so do u think it's good?? ![]() |

Go for the TCON17. get any non-camera manufacturer ones and you'll just regret your purchase. Olympus never make any 2x teleconverters and there're many so-called 2x teleconverter which degrade your image quality and perform around 1.3x to 1.5x. Why take the risk?

Based on my research of browsing dpreview forums, rec.photo.digital, and trying some of the tele lens I agree with the general consensus. For the sony f717 and Olympus cameras, the best tele lens is the sony VCL-HG1758 (1.7x). The second best is the TCON17 and it's much cheaper and lighter. You won't be disappointed with either. For any other tele lens, you should try them and decide if the quality is acceptable. Why don't you take your camera to the store and ask if you can try the lens. Take a few picture, and then decide if it's acceptable. ![]() |

Izit true that C750 has a problem with the "refresh rate" on the EVF?

but, looking at the test images from reviews, the noise levels at higher ISOs, the C750uz seems to perform horribly.. the c740uz does much better at higher ISOs... the sole reason why i'm considering the 740uz over the 750uz...
but the 750uz has so much more features that i seemingly think would never use, but would be really nice to have ( hot-shoe, movie+sound, etc.) and not for much more, $150 bucks?? |
