    Default Hardware Dilemma..

Long story short,my Free Agent Pro 500GB just died on me..
Called the tech support n was told I need an IMF Team to get it work again.Best to have it replaced. But he also told me if I must use Vista as my OS,I can switch to OneTouch 4 Plus 500 GB..from the chat, looks like FA Pro is not suitable for Vista(more for XP use!)

My dilemma is should I switch to OneTouch or just get the one with the higher value, sell it and get another brand/an internal HDD?

    what do u guys suggest?

Maxtor has been unreliable for years. They're nicknamed "Maxtorture" for a reason. Get WD or Seagate.

    From Seagate website
    http://www.seagate.com/docs/pdf/data..._fa_pro_us.pdf
    Capacity Model number Limited Warranty
    500 GB ST305004FPA1E3-RK 5-year
    750 GB ST307504FPA1E3-RK 5-year
    1TB ST310005FPA1E3-RK 5-year
    Operating System
Windows XP Home, Professional Edition or Windows 2000 Pro

Seems that your Free Agent Pro 500GB don't support WIN VISTA but seems to have 5 years warranty.
If the harddisk is ok or they can get the harddisk fixed for free, can consider buying another external casing for the HDD as it's quite cheap.
PC Show coming in 2 days time @ Suntec.
Maybe you can go & have a look
