Default OM Lens with to 4/3 adaptor.. shutter delay, why?

may be this had been discussed before, but i couldn't yet find any thread ..

when i attached an OM lens to E510 body with a 4/3 adaptor, the shutter always delay by a few seconds after i pressed it. even when i put the camera on MF mode.

any reason why is this so, and how to overcome it?

my adaptor is 3rd party, made in china, the adaptor can step down the aperture as i made the adjustment. very tight fitting.

i have some old OM lenses 24f2 to 300mmf4.5, i hope i can use it with E510.

Thanks!

happens only with legacy lenses? it sounds like you had the anti-shock option on. maybe you can check that setting?

Some how I have a feeling that the E-510 IS is not working when a manual lens is used, because there is no focal length data feed from the manual lens to the E-510.

Anyone can confirm this, please?

whats your firmware version? previous versions do not support IS for legacy lens.

if you are updated to firmware v1.3, you have to dial in the focal length of your lens in the IS screen. bottom right corner. in IS screen, hold the ev button and dial in your lens focal length.

nice collection there. was in the market looking for the om 24/2.8 when oly announced the zd25/2.8 pancake. now thinking of getting a couple of 50mms to play around with reverse mounting.

looking forward to your test pics!

Oh! Will try it out. Thank you very much.
No wonder I couldn't get my IS to work with MF lens previously.
