hi i'm hoping for some recommendations for a compact digital camera that can be housed, and attached with a wide angle lens(wet or not) and strobes.
or perhaps someone could explain about strobes and lenses for u/w photography, e.g. strobes and wet lenses can be attached to any kind of u/w housing, or only certain kinds? thanks |

canon G9 with Ikelite housing
about $1500sg Comes with a 67mm screw thread which you can purchase an Inon WAL-105 (Wide angle) to attach on, and also a UCL-165(macro) Strobes u can choose from Ikelite (connect via Sync Cord - electrical signals) Inon ( Optical Cable) Sea & Sea (Optical Cable) Only Olympus Housing comes with threaded housing which you can attached wet lens, but i wouldn't spend my last cent on olympus compact. DSLR yes. The rest of the housings does not come with attachment options. get ikelite its cheap, good (60m rated - norm housing is 40m or less) All Optical cable triggered strobe can be used for almost every type of camera that you can house. Ikelite strobe can be triggered Optically via a MV-Controller. some of the links which might help Oceanic Focus - Camera Housings n Strobe Store One stop shop to get everything you need for underwater, even free lessons ![]() Ikelite - Housing n Strobe Manufacturers You can check here what are the camera models they support. Sea & Sea I m not too familiar with Sea&sea Stuff but i know they make some quite impressive housings n strobes, which are out of my budget Inon - For Strobes n Wet Lenses Inon strobes and Wet lenses are one of the best for compact camera users, powerful yet small. I hope this helps, maybe the admin can sticky this so newbies can read in future, and the other members can do contributions ![]() |
