Hi may I know are there any ways/indicators on the SB-800 that shows the power of the batteries in it? Thanks.

You may get a "feel" of the remaining power of the batteries by watching the duration needed for the flash "ready light" to stop flashing after firing a flash. A red lit "ready light" indicates flash is ready for the next flash shot.
The longer the time duration, the lower the remaining battery power. On page 19 of Nikon SB-800 user manual, the manual does "indirectly" answer your question in the "Minimum number of flashes and recycling times" section |

Thanks Squid. Weird man why can't they have an indicator bar to show the remaining power of the batteries. Guess that will be more useful.

Sadly, that's the only way to know the battery status, but not a major problem.

Yup. I agree, its a sad thing coming from the top of the line flash. I used to have a SB-28 and i think they have an indicator there... ?
Anyway, its not that difficult to do an indicator considering its already an electronic appliance? |

just look at the recycling time, for fresh 1 it recharges very qucikly within 3 secs.
