Just curious. Any one here actually has won over the urge of buying more lenses and say "that's all I need".

I believe everyone loves to try out new things, but the rationalization makes the difference.

I still love to try new stuffs once in a while
    and i am contented

I think after buying a certain item, you'll feel contented with it. But you'll want more lens after a period of time to try out new shots.

I really like to think I have enough lenses & bodies. I thought I have,
but I still wish I had enough.

I don't think there is any real end in sight when it comes to this.

Buying stuff is something like consuming opium -- it feels good when you just got it, but when the effect wears out, the feeling of 'need' comes again.

not really. but i've found what i needed for the jobs i'm doing. most of the time, it's either a 35mm or a 24-70 on my camera. i mean seriously, what else do u need? i have a 70-200 which i use sometimes for more reach but there's all about it.

i don't quite understand why some ppl need so many lenses. i mean, using the right tools for what u're shooting is important. afterall, u can only use that few lenses for a particular shoot. so i don't see the point of getting an arsenal full of lenses.

Me, I'm pretty much happy with my set up for now. It does what I want to, and I know what it cannot do, so I find workarounds.

Life is like that..you can analyse all day long and think of what you need now, but that need may be different when a new situation arise. If life would be that simple, the manufacturer won't need to produce so many different types. Having diversified interest ? Then BBB lor...if you can afford them. I, also asked myself the question, why would anyone want to buy an expensive f1.4 lenses, knowing that the quality may not be sharp at that value ? Well, I did after doing a search on the sites that I will visit. Some memories is better than none, dim light, no tripod, no flash allowed. Sometimes, I wonder what's the rationale of not permitting the usage of tripod when the space itself is ample for movement.

Me! Ok, I started with kit lens, then thought I needed more range, so bought a 70-300mm which I hardly use. Bought a 50mm, I think my son use it more often than me.

When I replaced my kit lens with Tamron 17-50, it was practically all I needed.

Of course, I find that I will need wide angles for certain landscapes, more zoom for certain shots etc, but for my kind of shooting, what I have is pretty much covered. No urge to buy more lenses as I do not find the investment is worthwhile for now. So I happily borrow lenses from my friends when I need a specific one

"The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys". The saying is very apt especially if we regard photography as a hobby and the equipment our toys. We can be contented today, but if something strikes our fancy tomorrow, the "new toy" syndrome starts all over again

Anyone actually rent lenses to ease the urge?

I'm not contented with my photographs I take and I believe it isn't my gear, so must keep working hard.

I've stopped, since I already have a range of 28-600mm already with 3 lenses. They all serve me well, from wide angles to telephoto. If I get more, I'm not doing justice to my lenses, since my photos aren't up to standard.
