Hi all, does MB-80 battery grip comes with Nikon EN-EL3e Rechargeable Li-ion Battery? or do i have to purchase additional rechargeable battery separately?

it does not feel 99% similar to me... feels abit weird.. like abit plastic.. but still none the less helps in taking portraits..

in the looks department, it looks like a disjoint unit from the main unit, its quite obvious to see 2 items connected together... The d300 and the pentax BG-2 looks much better.

The usual grip look. But it tends to get loose and you need to periodically tighten the knob which I find it a little irritating. There were previous posts about it not being able to have a tight seal with the D80 even if you turn it to the tightest. I head one guy taping the grip onto the body too! I left my D80 grip in the dry cabinet for a long time. For me I rather carry my spare battery in my pocket and have a lighter and less bulkier setup to carry around. Ryan |

only for D300 it will increase, For D80 battery grip, there are only 3 purposes:
1) allow ease in shooting portrait position 2) allow u to use AA batteries 3) to look pro

Just allowing you to shoot in vertical format comfortably is already reason enough to get the grip. No more contortionist arm positions. you can even control shutter and apperture with the vertical grip in vertical shooting position.

I prefer the trigger feel of the vertical grip and the rubberized part of the vertical grip as it's much more grippy. However, i cant say the MB-D80 is well made as it's VERY plasticky and if u mount it on a tripod, u would realise that the tripod screw area is very weak as there's a huge space in the middle for the batteries. In short, u wont feel confidence in holding the cam from the MB-D80 if u've got a nice big lens on.

the screw is a bit loose though, but it is built like this, u can rotate it backwards after like its fully locked, but it will stop when it catches the backwards screw. if u know wat i mean. once i had it on, it nvr came off my d80 only. carrying is a b***h, but it makes it fit my oversized hands better. |
