Since minolta no longer made light meters, is the Kenko KFM-1100 equivalent to the old minolta light meter IV ??
Is Kenko light meters available in SIN ?? Any user using the Kenko KFM-1100, as good as minolta ??

i have not heard of kenko. but, i have used and still using minolta meters. they have not given me any reason to second rate them. in my experience, they are reliable and user friendly.

THK (Tokina Hoya Kenko) bought over the research and manufacture facility of Minolta light meter division in Japan in 2007. My colleague in Hong Kong told me THK eventually rehired all the senior engineers and technicians from Minolta, tapping into their already matured and established expertises in this area. Therefore, it is assumed that the quality of Kenko's light meters is as good as Minolta's.
By the way, I have both the Minolta Light Meter V and Color Meter for many years; they are still my workhorses in the studio. Last edited by photobum; 6th June 2008 at 05:51 PM. |

Unforunately Minolta is no longer available except 2nd hand, if the Kenko is as good, then i dun mind getting them...anyone has any experience with the Kenko light meters ??

My colleague at our Hong Kong studio uses a Kenko 2100 light meter. Yes, he says its quality as good as Minolta's. What's more, Kenko meters are slightly cheaper than Minolta too.

Saw a Kenko at Cathay yesterday, I think. Costs about $700.
