    hmm the shadows does appear when using flash

    But I believes it helps especially when doing street and outdoor shots

    imho, I think lens hood make lenses look way cooler

    Oh ok . I thought u were referring to shooting without flash.
    With especially inbuilt flash, you can get shadows of the lenses even without hoods as well

    lol.

    the only problem i have with lens hoods is that, canon lens caps aren't center pinch.

    and it can be quite troublesome to remove the lens cap, especially in a hurry.

    yea, thats kinda troublesome in a sense, Nikon caps are a little better in that respect


    but the impression a lens hood (especially a tulip hood) gives to non-photographers is really big! dunno why but they immediately assume you're a 'professional' photographer
    who cares that you're only an amateur hobbyist wielding an entry-level!
