This reminds me of the old chamagne-colored minolta lenses. AFAIK there were champagne-colored cameras on sale in Japan too. They were popular.

actually, does the color of a camera body matters?
reason I asked is because I heard this argument by one of the salesman in AP (Funan).. with the black color body, it's better in terms of light reflection from the body. he said you have a bright gold color (or champagne colored in this case) body, taking pictures, it'll have more lights reflecting from the body Sounds like a huge smokescreen to me.. ![]() |

colours make a difference, black is ugly and it is the traditional mindset who thinks dslr should be black to be professional. i m a guy and dun mind my cam to be in shocking pink or electric orange. at least i feel refreshing using the camera instead of the dull silly black.
and again i wouldnt mind if it has inbuilt psp or mp3 player. why would including these stuffs make u less professional? again, this is the traditional squarish mindset which is uncreative.

How does the light reflecting "from the body" get through the lens to affect metering? And what did he mean by having a bright gold colour will have "more lights reflecting from the body"? Is he talking about taking photos OF the camera, or WITH the camera? In this day and age, with the internet and all, tech item sellers should know better than to treat their potential customers like idiots. Theoretically though, a light coloured/reflective body/lens shell could be better because it would trap less heat than a black one. More heat = more noise, and there's also a slightly higher chance of various forms of heat damage due to uneven internal expansion, etc.

how much light can you reflect to light up the subject
![]() but for birder, the bright colour may scare away the subject. for those who want to own a DSLR to impress, not sure will it be a chick magnet though? ![]()

video function is totally possible but they purposely dun want to incoporate it into their DSLR. this is because images from DSLR coupled with great lens are freaking good, its so good till it will steal the market of the pro camcorders, those XH, XL etc..
pentax is already in this video field already with their 20fps. Its actually a video recording function built into the cam, and it translates the video into its individuals frames. video capability will come soon definitely, dun worry.
