Hello!!
Sorry as I am new to Nikon camera ![]() Out of this 3 cameras.. can someone advise which is a better camera? And what is the main difference between them? I only know D200 is heavy in size and better body. However I am not very sure about the rest of the differences.. ![]() |

I read already.
But there seems not much difference between D60 and D80? just that D80 heavier, got 9 focus points. Is there any obvious difference? But I think I will choose D60 since it will be compatible with most of the newer lenses nikon are coming out? Am i right? Thanks!! |

err no... the main difference is the drive motor, which lets u auto focus...
which d60 does not have..

yeah it says something like the newer lenses will all have motors in them.. so only d60 but not d80 will be compatible?

not really... the lens still can use on a d80...so means that whatever lens u have also can auto focus...
but for d60 u need special lens la.. but its no big deal if you like to manual focus and do it the old school way... ![]()

Does it means D80 and D200's lenses are cheaper because the body already have motor in them?

And currently many of the AF wider angle primes such as the 14mm, 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 105mm for example do not have their equivalent Nikon AFS counterparts yet so users of D80 and D200 for example have a wider selection than the D40/60 users. Ryan |

And also if you intend to get third-party lenses like sigma or tokina, you would not want to worry yourself needlessly whether it has a build in focus motor.

If you are new to DSLR and wish to have a go at it, D80 would be my suggestion. D60 has it limitation as discussed above and D200 would be a little to advance for your comfort to start off with. having said that, just be warn that replacement for D80 may be anytime soon. If you are not new to photography (be it PNS or DSLR) but new to Nikon, D200 is my recommendation… this is based on the 3 options that you listed, otherwise D300 would be my choice. go and do your own research/reading, visit the showroom/shop to have a feel of the cameras. you know what suits you best, not us…. |

Either you have to ask a more specific question, or at least provide more information about what kind of photography you like, or whether you prefer a light or heavy camera. Of greater importance is what your budget is. |
