I suspect it is sticky shutter curtain. If the shutter curtain is sticky, some part of the frames might get exposed at a longer time, hence overexposed. Was the M6 CLA'ed before?

possibly a sticky shutter... but find the results odd for a curtain shutter. but toying with the idea of the sticky shutter, it usually occurs due to disuse or "different" alignment of the shutter curtain, e.g. if this occurs only when you shoot in portrait orientation.

if this occurs only in 1 or 2 shots in a roll, a less likely cause could be a tiny hole in your shutter curtain. but easy enough to check, take off the lens and camera back, and look into a strong light.
