Default bittersweet6twenty wedding shots

Thought I'd start a wedding thread with some shots. C&C is really most welcome (seriously) on improvements that could be made. Harshness is most appreciated (:

Before anyone says anything, i realise that the hand is blocking the bride, but I liked the anonymity of this photo. No faces, but a story. I know some do and don't like it, but please dont' say 'the bride's face is blocked' because i know :P do let me know if it works though...

1. maybe slightly a wee bit more of the bride's body into frame would look nice.
2. it didn't quite work for me.. but the concept could be worked on.
5. looks over shadowy/contrast.. couldnt really capture the main focus of the bridesmaid holding the wedding dress
6 & 7. i thought a higher shutter speed was required to to freeze motion...

im no pro.. jus saying what i feel as the ordinary man on the street looking for a wedding photographer

sweet, thanks for the feedback. Agree with your comments. Thinking about it I suppose these are not the sort of shots one would want as a staple for a wedding! too moody and dark i suppose :P i guess there is a need for those nice bright shots too...!

Thanks again.

Couple more shots. I'm really taking my time with these... it's nice just to be able to play with photos at the end of the day :P

nice series you have there theroo.
generally speaking... nice moments you have captured.

think you posted the pics which shows things that pple often missed out. nice and interesting concepts like capturing the moment of the kids in peek-a-boo (#9) and the one with flower-in-my-lips (#15). maybe its me... but i kind of enjoy looking at kids pics. haha.

#1
good attempt trying to show the dress of the bride. might have to beware of the highlights and the elbow being cropped off. maybe it would have been better if you crop in tighter on the hands just to show the hand and the ring.

#2
haha... din work for me. maybe blur off the bride and the background to bring focus on the kid and the mum (i suppose). i wish the hand was a pat on the kid... then it would be more interesting.

#3
too much highlights here.

#4
interesting shot capturing the details. but viewers would not know what is it..

#5
good moment... but have to dodge and burn more at certain parts.

#6
good pic.
hope to see more face of the groom though.

#7 watch the highlights again
#8 like the look on the bride but wish could see more of the bride as well.
#9 i like this.
#10 beware the fingers and right side of the arm. and too much distractions
#11 awesome! nice moment showing both of them walking together. the hand of the groom makes it more natural and not very "posed".
#12 don't like... feels being chopped off.
#13 nice pic.
#14 nice pic... but the background a bit too bright i feel.
#15 really cute. haha.
#16 nice moment but if will be good to show the action behind. can see a third hand but cant see what the other bridesmaid is doing.
#17 great flowers and great colors but might want to dodge certain parts... the bouquet not in the centre.

i am not a pro either... and also trying hard to improve. its so hard to take a wedding day shoot. sometimes u just dun have time to think or react and just had to shoot on sight and pray. me too had a hard time trying to shoot my fren's rom... just picked up this hobby and went there for a "learning experience". it was definitely a hungry experience and a sweaty one. haha.

hmmmm...the most lovely things about the pics are the singature....
I dunno, some shots that block off the entire brides face or chop off people's head dun agree with me...but then i am no pro...

hey dingz, thanks man for taking all the time to look through and make constructive criticism! really appreciate it. Yeah i need to improve a lot and my choice of shots sometimes is not so good, and also pp-ing too! and yes, totally identify with the HUNGRY experience hahaha...

cosy: HAHA... well, at least you liked something. But thanks for the comments. I guess there are times when having the face obscured adds to the sort of 'pensive' feel of things, but i know that from a bride/groom's perspective you probably want to see yourself. thanks for commenting
