Hi All...
Here are some photos taken todaytestin gout the 3 stack of close up filters... Last week i tried with a +4(55mm) , +4(58mm),+2(58mm). It caused some distortion due to the 55mm sized filter. The curvature at the edges mismatched the front element of the G2. Got the 58mm +4 from MScolor yesterday and here are some test shots taken today at Alexandra Hospital Butterfly Trial..... ![]() above: Tv=1/200th sec Av=f7.1 ISO=50 ![]() above: Tv=1/250th sec Av=f5 ISO=50 ![]() above: Tv=1/200th sec Av=f5 ISO=50 ![]() above: Tv=1/400th sec Av=f4 ISO=50 .... ...continued from above...
![]() above: Tv=1/100th sec Av=f5 ISO=50 above: Tv=1/100th sec Av=f5 ISO=50 These ants seem to be going through a major migration. There were large solder ants securing the area(larger than normal ones) Their claws are really large and a bite willl i'm sure cause some swelling!!! CONCLUSION: Using the +4,+4,+2 (all 58mm)stacked on a POWERSHOT G2 seem to give great images output. Choosing the right aperture is crucial to reduce color fringing at outer edges if the sun is bright. I would recommend an aperture of f5 as a rule of thumb. I found out after comparing framing with my SLR macro at 1:1...i realize the three stacked close up gives an equivalent framing size to 1:1 on a G2. All shots were taken using the manual focus mode. Tripods were used in cases where shutter speed gets to loww...and when i am too tired!!! TIPS: As some shots are really chalenging due to shake(When handheld).....i would choose the "Multiple Exposure mode" making use of the 2.5frames persecond when i press the trigger....It will take 3 to 5shots and 1 will turn out sharpest...... Shutter Vibration problen is less in digital camera like G2 so its an advantage too... regard, Sulhan[ Last edited by sulhan; 28th June 2003 at 06:03 PM. |
