What lens hood to use for 50/1.4?

Does Nikon have a specific lens hood for this lens or I have to get a 3rd party one?

Any idea which one to buy and from where?

There is a specific one: Nikon HR-2 Rubber Hood.
The rubber hood is especially good for taking pics through windows when you don't want any reflections. You can just place the lens right up against the glass!

Just leave it on lah.

There are those screw-on rubber hoods.

there's a metal one, $35 if im not wrong.. hn-3 or something like that...

You can get a metal lens hood, model: HS 9. Can be use on all lenses with 52mm thread.

The hood is very difficult to get and I got mine from SykesTang. Very easy to mount.

Yeah, the HS-9 comes with a spring-loaded clamp that catches on the front filter thread for quick mounting/release. Got it from Tang previously.
