Hi all,
Do you think worth selling off the 2 kit lens, 14-42 mm; 40-150mm for 12-60mm? or 18-180mm? I personally like 12-60 a lot but on budget, so nid to sell the kit lens Previously, I was told tat 18-180 focusing wasn't tat gd... but it covers a whole good range. What is the market price for 12-60 and 18-180 now? How much can I fetch to sell away the 2 kit lens?

Another vote for the 12-60mm!
![]() But I would recommend you keep the 40-150mm. There will be times when you want the extra reach...

Either the 12-60mm or 14-54mm. See how much your budget you have.

got mine at $1325 cash.
no regrets, the 12-60 is definitely worth it. very versatile lens with good IQ. focusing is fast and accurate and the mechanical manual focus ring is probably the best among all ZD lenses imo. the 14-54 is great too, and is about half the price from BnS. some of my 12-60 shots to share ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Not worth to buy 12-60, because you have no extra cash.

But if Olympus E-club member got super deal for 14-54mm like 50-200mm, I will definitely go for 14-54mm for the price... and maybe go for 9-18 when it is release.

depends.
do you take a lot of wide shots? if not, the 14-54mm will serve you better. i take a lot of wides and i end up switching lenses very often, and i realised that is not realistic when i travel, so i bought the 12-60mm instead. i may let go of my 11-22mm and 14-54mm which i think will be in cold storage now that i have the 12-60mm. i am keeping my 40-150mm even though i got the 50-200mm simply because it's a very good lens and it is very light for outdoor shots. take a look at the flickr forums and you see what i mean. |

You may seem to lose in terms of value, selling both the kit lens with 14 - 150 mm coverage, and only getting back 12 - 60 mm cover. But overall the 12-60/2.8-4.0 may actually help you realise more photographic opportunities.
1. Better f-stop range gives better speed at similar lighting and hence less "shaken" pics - less discards. 2. Better f-stop range = more photographic opportunities for the more extreme lighting conditions. 3. 12-60 has better coverage than 14-42. How often is it that you lug around TWO lenses? Again better photographic opportunites. 4. Faster AF = more photographic opportunities. But of course all these at a price ..... >$1000 .... ![]() |

Well, if you do not need the range, why not
