Was estimated at S$8k +/- I thought it is reasonable.

Below USD2k for SONY FF 24mp....

why not? canon's 5D is less than USD2k what. If you look at canon's side, the 40D now is super cheap, less than USD $1k. It is very likely the 5D replacement will be below USD2k I feel. Else canon have nothing at the USD 2k price point anymore.

If canon selling full frame at USD2k, I think other manufacturer will want to compete at this semi-pro full frame market which I think has much higher volume than the pro full frame market.

Well, this has been in the talk for some time already. So to retain the market share Canon definitely has to drop it's price. How can they lose out to a 'newcomer' (which what a lot of people think they are)? Anyway, it's so contradicting that recently Canon US just announced recently that there will be a price increase in it's cameras and now we are seeing that it's slashing it's prices.

You'll never know Sony's strategy.

Last time they sell PS3 below the production cost, but they earn from the games.

Maybe they sell cheap body, hope to get profit from lenses & accessories?

might be possible... come up with a whole range of 'Full Frame' accessories that are said to run better...

not saying that i believe the a900FF will be under 2K USD.. but anything is possible..

There was a time right here in Clubsnap where it was believed that the Sony's 7d-replacement would cost >S$2500 .. and we even polled what we thought would be the price of the camera..right up to like..$4-5k.. and the lowest poll option was $2500...

Turn out the camera cost less than $2300 when launched..

I agree. The thread was closed based on the mod's assumption it was rumors. Maybe someone should PM him with more info about thinkvision.

But considering our long history of info from thinkvision... Why is the mod of this section not aware of him?
