Default Want a Sony Compatible Battery?

Hi,

I went to EastGear yesterday and I saw it has some 3rd party batteries for Canon, Nikon and FujiFilm. The price is about $30. I then asked whether he has Sony compatible batteries. He told me that he is not sure about the market size and demand and thus he has not bought in.

I think most of the Sony users would like to have a spare battery but are not willing to pay the premium price of the original (Sony Info M - Slim battery, equote from CP, $80). I was wondering whether we can give EastGear some idea how many people are interested to buy this compatible battery.

Regards,
keicheng

p.s. if you know where in SG I can get a 3rd party battery for my F717, please let me know

SLS, lots of shops are selling them,

I would recommend DAIICHI, that shop besides ALan Photo.

AP quoted me $55 but Daiichi quote me only $45

a small yellow colour box called Megawatt or megapower.
just tell them it's for FM-50

Thanks Sony717,
Will get one!
By the way, how's the performance? As good as the Sony original battery?

Regards
Kei

Hi Curious,

Can you tell us the brand, please? At least, we can avoid buying this lousy battery.

I received an equote from MS Color last week, Sony FM50 compatible battery $42.

Well the AA's are cheap enough for you to keep a few sets as spare, right?
You'll probably run out of storage space before you run out of 2 sets of AA's...

sorry, are you guys saying there are external power packs available for Sony F717?

I saw this line just now
http://www.imaging-resource.com/ACCS...00/DPS9000.HTM
It sounds interesting but I prefer to use AA batteries as they are cheaper and I can buy a lot (for long trips).
Can anyone provide me some info., please?
