Accurate Slides Scanning
Does any one know where I can get good slides scanning that reproduces colour faithfully? I tried a few places but none has given me good results yet. Most common problem I face is colour cast and smaller dynamic range on the digital photo. For example, I had an exposure of a tree against a blue sky at sunset. The velvia slide showed great blue sky and glorious golden rays on the leaves. Even the sun in the frame had that "star" effect from small aperture. However on the digital scanned image, there were no golden rays at all, blue cast all over and the region around the sun was a patch of blown highlights. I cannot process the digital image to look like the original because the blown highlights had no details and the black shadows had nothing to push either.
