Default Sipadan with a compact - wide-angles

First time to Sipadan, and using my new setup with a dedicated strobe for my compact for the first time - think need a few more dives to play around with the settings. Just sharing some wide-angles from the trip - quite a memorable trip in more ways than one.

Hey Som, nice pics.

Dunno anything about UW Photography. Water does not seem to be very clear there?

Really awesome photos.

How deep were you? I often read that we should should use a red filters to preserve the color, do you also have the red filter attached?

Hey mate, thanks. Yeah, the visability wasn't all that great - was a bit of a disappointment on my first trip to Sipadan, expecting really good vis from what people have told me, but there were thunderstorms just before we arrived and also the coral were spawning, so vis was only about 10-15m tops.

Thanks Eudon, you're another one who's underwater photos I admire. For #5, think I need to adjust the WB, haven't had time to adjust the WB properly yet.

Thanks doUbleCHIN. Most of the dives we went down 20+ metres. Photos taken at varying depths from as shallow as 10m to about 20m.

Yeah, have read about the red filters - didn't use them on my cam. Was thinking of trying them out but didn't have time to get them before the trip. Have been thinking about trying out some complimentary colour filters on my cam and strobe on my next dive trip somewhere, will post my results of my testing if and when I get around to it.

Thanks hloc. One of my favourites too. Had to get real close with the WA, lucky I didn't scare him off before taking the shot.
