hi,
the following steps might be abit more technical than usual, but it does work. do give it a try. download the related software updater that you want from the Canon site and do the following steps.. 1) Open the registry editor: Start=>Run=>Regedit 2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ 3) if not already created, create a new key called Canon 4) Inside that new key create an additional one called ____ (name of application below) 5) Run the file you had previously downloaded, it should now pass the check status and install correctly List of registry keys of different Canon Softwares to be used.. Zoom Browser: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\ZoomBrowser Ex Digital Photo Professional: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\DPP EOS Capture: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOS Capture EOS File Viewer: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOSViewerUtility PhotoStitch: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\PhotoStitch |

Did you try using it to install the software? I can't be 100% sure, but if i remember right, when i needed to install software on a new computer I could use those without needing the originals.
I checked the website, for instance EOS Utiluty says EOS Utility 2.4 Updater for Windows is software that will install EOS Utility 2.4 on your computer or update a previously installed version of EOS Utility to EOS Utility 2.4.I suggest that you try. Good luck! |

FilterFunk method will work, I just downloaded and install EOS utility 2.4/DPP without any existing Canon software. its the same file downloaded from Canon SG with an "updater" word behind.
btw, EOS utility needed this key(looks like folder icon) in registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOS Utility it also need Microsoft .NET Framework. .NET 2.0 should be included in the updater but mine--.NET installation failed. have to find and installed .NET 3.5 separately, then the EOS utility installation went smoothly.
