Taken with a cheapo lamp from ikea. The rose is from World AIDS day(some time back).

No offense but the picture could have struck more impact if the rose was real... dunno if its me but it doesnt look sharp enough and picture seems abit noisy(as in grainy) lei.... whats the message or emotion you wish to convey through that picture? try harder

The sharpness part i can't help it...I've stopped down quite a lot to like f8 i think. The black board behind is kinda old. Yup i couldn't find a real rose when i wanted to shoot this. Kind of like add on as i was shooting other things.

It seems that with the background and the grains of the picture, you're trying to depict a moody feel to it but the pedals look too lively in the end disrupts the whole feeling of the picture.

i did similar shots like this year ago and it got a satisfying result. try shooting again.

Not really. The 'lively' rose in a gritty and dark environment is quite a nice juxtaposition for me, though I don't really know what to make of its long green wire.
