This was taken at the boatasia 2008,
any comments about composition, lighting, etc?

my 2 cents worth.hope u dun mind.

the picture lacks a strong subject to me. its too cluttered with too many things for the viewer to look at. the details of some of the stuff are lost after the B&W conversion.

to me, because u took away the color, the other parts of the picture has to be even stronger like texture, details, etc.

is there anything in particular u were trying to show in the pic?

Overly cluttered, no point of interest, no subject. No complete yatch to see, only see numbers to buy 4D. TS, you named this thread marina, honestly i only see a part of the yatch in frame floating on the water. There is no hint of the marina in the pic at all. And i assume that boatasia 2008 is a grand event. There should be more interesting subjects around. Correct me if i'm wrong on this.

black and white pictures should be stronger...

your picture mostly is black and grey, not black and white... too much grey liao, no WHITE ! We are also not seeing good tone here.

don't be dis-courage by all the words here, keep shooting
