Default Gone fishing!

Hi All!

Took this at Changi beach after campimg overnight. Got lucky as very little clouds obscuring the sun.
Tech details -
f-stop : 5.6
Shutter : 1/800
ISO : 100
Focal length : 62mm

I think the ship in the background distracts the silhouette, so I tried to use a larger aperture to throw it out of focus. Please C&C on the technical and compositional aspects of the photo. Any suggestions on PP is also welcomed.

Felt that you could have waited a little longer for the ship to move to a less distracting portion of the frame, like for instance at the left 1/3 of the frame. Sometimes waiting does help

On the whole, nothing really wrong with the photo. Composition is quite sound. Horizon seems a teeny bit tilted; I'm not sure if its just my eyes tricking me. Would have preferred a tad more underexposure, maybe 2/3-stop, and a slight contrast bump.

will bnw work better in this case?<- i'm wondering...
actually i will make it panorama with the sun left out of the crop..
and the boat cloned out of the picture...

my novice opinion...

Just a thought.....

Maybe you could allow the sun to set a bit more and crop away top part of the sky away. Then it will make the shot more panoramic. Would it be better?

Thanks for all the comments so far! Keep em coming!

Actually, the ship was moving super slow.. And I had wanted the rising sun to be in the frame. So, any later the sun would be too high.

I kinda like the colors produced at that hour, so I think I'll leave it instead of BnW conversion.
