A newbie question... Will the bros n sis here say use a soft filter or star filter? Or U will edit the photo during PP session?

Although I must admit I have no need for such effects, But if given a chance i would not use the filters if they can already be PP later with more control. I cannot sharpen a softened picture as well as i can soften a sharp picture in photoshop. The only advantage i can think of is it saves you time from PP later on.
