EOS 1Ds vs 5D

I would just like to know the competition between these two.

Any comments are welcome.

I feel the EOS 1Ds is really worth buying even though it lack it terms of Technology compared to 5d.

Pls give your honest views

I thought you are waiting for the 5DII? If you buy the 1Ds, then would you sell it when 5DII comes? Or will you regret your purchase of 1Ds?

i will take the 5D.. unless u really need speed capturing..

full frame makes use of the full capability of the lens..

Well both are FF. 5D is rightfully not a FF due. its few milimetre short to a FF.

Why 5D over 1Ds? Whats your reason over that ?

These has nothing got to do with money. In fact 1Ds is cheaper and out of date in terms of Technology.

Let me make things clear here :

These thread is all abt 1Ds vs 5D.

The old 1Ds not 1DsM2 or 1DsM3.

The advantages of the 5D are : slightly wider DR; better high-ISO performance; slightly better resolution; better metering, and more.

The advantages of the 1Ds are : superior inner detail; a more film-like capture; a richer, deeper look to its files, and more.

The 1DS has 11mp, the 5D has 12.8mp

Just want to hear more comments and views from the experts here.

Ok, I just take it that you are curious about comparing the old 1Ds and 5D.

But,

comparing these 2 are like quite pointless as they are from different era. When IDs Mark I had 11.8mp, other cameras are still eating dust behind, and 5D not even born yet. When 5D was born, there's MII.

That few millimetres will make no difference. It is not even a .1x crop difference.

I believe era will not affect one performance. I am not looking for these kinda of explanation.

Haven't you already got your info? If you know what you're looking for in a camera, the info above is more than enough to define your purchase.

Usually people ask for advice with an open mind, but you seem to stick to your claims and views and reject other suggestions.

Era does make a difference. 40D is so much better than a 10D, but they're both good.
