Default first attempt! sembawang beach

this is my first attempt. pointers to improve would be appreciated! also, how do you ensure that pictures taken are sharp? do we use a smaller aperture when the object is further and vice versa? and, how can i focus properly at night? thanks!

first of all, in order for the picture to be sharp, there has to be one. heehee..
