hi humchinpang,

when i order my tripod from them, it was a meet up deal as I was told that the tripod is too odd shaped (too long) for it to be delivered using SingPost, it has to go thru SpeedPost which will cost $10+.. JL nicely arranged a meet up with me and deal cash on delivery.. it's better to get YongNuo products from them as they are the exclusive distributor for Singapore region.. there is proper warranty of cause.. anyway, they are contactable at sales.jlphoto@gmail.com and their website is http://jl-photo.blogspot.com/

Is the tripod reliable ie doesn't creep with a normal load (450D with kit etc)? Might want to get the S$99 4sect tripod as a gift for someone.

hehe, i shall say you wont believe you are paying S$99 for such a good piece.. i still have a link that JL email to me when I last enquire about their tripod..

it's here.. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...sh_Potrait.jpg

the set up was
- A700 <about 700g> + VG + minolta 75-300 + 56AM Flash <higher end flash>
- turning it side ways and it still as firm as stone...

the e-mailer states that their 5 section travel tripod (similar design to Benro Travel Angel Series, which the legs can bend 180 degress upwards for keeping purposes) is going at $150 (u.p. S$179) and optional to top up $30 (u.p. $58) to exchange the normal ballhead (takes 4 kg) to 3-way pan ballhead (takes 6 kg).. altogether adds up to $170 for a traveler tripod and a better pan ballhead..

even now i thinking of selling my yongnuo 3 section for this combo...

haha oh mannnn... to UK no tripod? must be kidding.. =) the architecture and landscape is gorgeous! but traveling its better to get travel tripod right? my 3 section is not really good for traveling as it long and weights at 1.7 kg with ballhead.. am planning for a trip so thinking of changing to lighter set up.. 5 section one is 1.1kg without ballhead.. i have ask JL so many questions about the travel tripod up to now.. guess ill just go ahead and get one..

The person's going there to study, so weight will not be too important because he'll have his dorm there and all.

Cool. I think my dad doesn't want to spend so much on a gift.. oh well.

I'm actually thinking of saving up for a CF tripod (probably manfrotto 190cx3 or 4), but in the mean time, d'you think that these will do? I'm referring to the 3 sect or 4 sect one. If they're okay for my kit (400D gripped + flash + normal weight lens, max about 3kg), I'd really think about meeting up for a deal.
