Hi reader,
Recently, i went to Bintan's Mayan Sari and after my touchdown, i visited the beach and here's my little harvest to share with you all. I really like this photograph alot but somehow i feel that there is more room for improvement about this photograph in term of landscaping. Please advise.... ![]() Thank you... Regards, Dwayne Tay |

I feel that getting closer with a wide angle from lower (so that the kids fill more of the frame) would produce a more compelling photo. Also wait for a moment when kid at right is not obscured by his twin. Finally color balance seems too blue, and the horizon is just so slightly tilted.

I'm not sure how others feel, but this picture gives me a 'romantic' feeling. lol. but MAYBE, cropping to just the babies will help in telling the story more.

I feel you could have shot it in landscape, it would have given more feel to it with the width as i felt there was too much space at the top and cramp at the sides.
To add more feel to it maybe you can give it a warmer tone in PP. ![]() My 2 cents. |

i think positioning urself directly behind the babies so that you can see both their backs would be better too... in this pic the further baby is almost totally covered by the other twin. and its also very very hrd to tell that they are twins from this angle
yups... cheers! |

thanks lennyl, i get where are you coming from. I agree that the horizon is a bit tilted. I took this pic in a nick of time because i anticipated that the toddlers will move away from their position any time. Thanks for the advice. I will keep myself reminded about the horizon or use a tripod if possible whenever i am snapping any landscape photography. Cheers ! |

DNA testing?
![]() Yeah I get what you mean... just pulling your leg. I agree with melvinho - don't worry too much about getting the horizon straight out of the camera. Great if you can, but unless you're superhuman, it's not very likely handheld. Just use the arbitrary rotate feature in most image editors. I don't even worry about white balance when shooting - I use auto and shoot raw, then fine tune in PP. It's hard enough to concentrate on the composition and the exposure. |
